Patient Care

 Capacity Building  is a primary goal of the organization. HCVI focuses on modernizing existing health care institutions, supporting them in forming sound policies, organizational structures, and effective methods of management and patient care. The provision of equipment, medications, supplies, and other resources is an essential component of this capacity-building role. 


Some of the major projects since HCVI's inception in 2014 include:

  • Renovation of the Surgical ICU at the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Construction and equipping of community/school medical clinics in Somoto and Esteli, Nicaragua
  • Construction and management of the HCVI Medical Library at the National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Installation and management of hospital-wide WIFI and IT network at the National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Creation of HCVI_Dental which provides dental education and training, basic care, as well as the quarterly toothbrush and toothpaste distribution in multiple countries, serving over 4000 children annually.
  • Renovation and co-management of the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department at the National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Renovation and co-management of the Emergency and Outpatient Department at the National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Installation of Drinkable Water in throughout the National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Renovation, reorganization, and modernization of the Operating Theater and Anesthesia and Perioperative Department at the National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) as part of an ongoing long-term collaboration
  • Donation of medications, equipment, and supplies valued at greater than 2.5M USD, supporting multiple facilities and locations
  • Host 1st Cambodia National Rehabilitation Conference (2017). Visit Conference Google Site
  • Initiate Program to Screen and Treat Cervical Cancer in Haiti (late 2017)
  • Construction and Management of HCVI Paul and Lorraine Duggan Kids Care Clinic
  • Sponsor and Manage quarterly Hand Hygiene Training at National Pediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh) as part of broader Infection, Prevention, and Control Program
  • Renovation and Installation of Drinkable Water, Bathrooms, Electricity, and Satellite HCVI KIds Care Clinic ( 500 + Student Domnak Smach Primary School, Kampong Speu, Cambodia
